About our partnerships

The African Chapter is working with medical students’ associations and societies across the continent to promote a culture of scientific and medical research that will see more graduating professionals taking up roles in medical research. This we believe will also help more people on the continent to participate in medical research as trial participants.

This partnership also involves working with Universities to other institution-based support for research. The ultimate goal is to place the continent on a path towards medical autonomy and effectively breaking free from the unsustainable dependency on western medical aid. Africa will be able to pioneer its own research and this is an important step in future pandemic preparedness.

We collaborate with a wide scope of organizations and individuals. The continent is home to hundreds of thousands of non-profit organizations and after silting through, our aim remains to work with those of a similar ethos. Under this framework, the African Chapter reaches out and works with other non-profit organizations involved in advocacy work and equity campaigns (and more generally - in health) as a way of magnifying community engagement and broadening our reach.

Our long term strategic goals of encouraging vaccinations and promoting scientific and medical research (we believe) will lead to health autonomy. Several non-profits have been working along similar efforts and we believe that through a concerted effort, we can achieve broader goals faster.

As we continue to build and increase our presence, we also position ourselves to be within reach of local community leaders as well as local government officials who are instrumental in sensitization and awareness campaigns. These leaders also serve well in de-campaigning vaccine hesitancy during this pandemic and building trust in medicines and therapeutics for future pandemics or outbreaks. This will restore public confidence in African health care systems.
